The first house in Schenectady had an above-ground pool in the back. Bill had the idea to put old tires in the pool during the winter to absorb the compression of the freezing water. He wanted to test to see if it was frozen one day.

It must have been 28 or 30° one day and there he was jumping up and down on one of the tires to see if the water had frozen. Of course he falls right into the pool passed his crotch. He gave quite a yelp.

The girls, of course, thought it was hilarious.

Here’s One reason You Should Always Put the Toilet Seat Down

In this old house there was no full-length mirror. The only mirror I could look at to see if my slip was showing was in the bathroom above the toilet. So I stood up on the toilet.

One night Bill and I were going to go out. The babysitter was coming over. I went into the bathroom but I forgot to put that seat down on the toilet. I stepped right in!
We’ve probably done a lot of other stupid stuff but these two stories really stand out.
