My Daughter Starts Life on a Playful Note

When Becky was very young, we would play games every night. One of the games was that we would play was that I would find and she would find me. And at first I would hide in an obvious way, with a foot sticking out so that she could find me. Then I would hide in a more difficult way.

One day, when she was learning to talk she ran into the bedroom, hid behind the blinds and said “Where Ebaba?” She was trying to say “Where is Rebecca.” It was the first sentence that she uttered and my wife and I were both utterly astounded. It just seemed so amazing because I was a surprise. Her first words were playful words.
