In Wyoming, the Wind Blew Six Days a Week

Father: Henry

I’m Marjorie Hook. I was born in Wyoming 82 years ago. I went to high school in Fort Collins, Colorado. I graduated from high school, and I worked in Indian River for a while and then I went into the Navy. I was in the Navy Medical.

We lived in a little town. My dad worked at anything he could. It wasn’t until after I got in high school that he got to be a carpenter. He stayed at that.

There were nine of us children and they started out in Washington State and then moved to Wyoming because he had a brother there. That’s where I grew up until I went to high school and moved to Fort Collins, Colorado.

Out on the flat land of Wyoming? (Laughter) You know they say that Wyoming has the shortest weeks of any state in the union because it blows six days out of the week! (Laughter) Yeah, the wind blows out there a lot.
