Well, about Delphos I don’t remember much because I was only four when we moved away. We moved to Landeck and then onto a farm. We lived in town in Delphos, and on a farm it’s different. You know, you didn’t have any close neighbors.

I started school at probably six years old in Landeck and some of the different things in them days, you know, your parents took you to school and dropped you off, not like now where they take you and you get introduced when you are young. Then we lived on the farm and I stayed there until I was actually 21.

Well, my mother died when I was 16 and so I helped farm until my dad got married again and there wasn’t enough on the farm to support two families so I started working away from the farm until I went into the Army.
