For the first twenty years we had the store we didn’t take any vacations. I worked seven days a week most weeks, and two or three nights a week. I was repairing watches till ten or 10:30 at night.
Nowadays you don’t have that. You have cheap, inexpensive battery watches. When the thing goes bad you throw it away and buy another one. About the only watch repair you get now are old keepsakes.
But after that my wife and I took some nice cruises. We went through the Panama Canal and up to Alaska. We went to Europe one time on a bus tour. We met a couple from Melbourne, Australia. We got to be good friends with them on the trip and they invited us to Melbourne for vacation. A couple years later we flew to Melbourne and spent two weeks with them. They showed us a lot of Australia. That was nice!
We flew all the way from San Francisco to Australia. We stopped in Hawaii and Fiji. On the way back we stopped in New Zealand and saw that. Then we stopped in Tahiti. We were gone for about a month.
