Lou: We came back to Findlay and John and Mike called and said they were going to get into the restaurant business in Findlay and take care of mom and dad. It was quite a deal getting a place for their restaurant and I had that all set, liquor license and everything so that they knew what to do. Anyway, then they came and started the business and Annie; they asked her to come in for a couple weeks and you were there how many years?
Annie: Fourteen.
Lou: Fourteen years.
Annie: I had never worked in my life.
Lou: No, and she was in the kitchen preparing the foods and all the recipes. She and John were quite the gourmet chefs. That was the extent of my brewing business.
Annie: We’ve been back here for 30 years though, Mike. See, we came back in ’75 and so we picked up with all of our old acquaintances and we’ve had a nice life here. We bought the block and, as I say, we are a slum landlord which is no fun anymore.
Annie: Well where the Rocking U is, we own that block, and it’s an old, old building and we don’t have the energy to do this anymore, you know? Isn’t that right, Lou?
Lou: When you get this age it’s a little more difficult to cope with. But, we’re still doing well and we’ve got a lot of friends here our age. I seem to be the oldest of them now. When I came here I was the youngest of the group. All my friends were much older than I was, but now they are all gone and I’m the last one around, but we have a lot of friends and they are all getting older. We looked after each other.
