I worked for Borland in Spain and moved to the States in 1995. I came to Santa Cruz in June 1995 and worked for Novell as QA engineer for almost a year.
Then I got a job as a project manager at Netscape, unfortunately after the IPO. I worked next to many millionaires, younger than I was. Nevertheless, it was also fun for some years. AOL bought Netscape in 1999, when I became an AOL employee.
As such and some title changes later, I was offered an expatriate assignment in Dublin, Ireland, in 2003. Originally to work in international development, it changed after some months into opening a development center in Bangalore, India.
Lots of work and some visits to Bangalore later, the center was opened and we started transferring work to India from US, following the offshoring trend in many high tech companies around Silicon Valley. After this experience, we moved back to California in the summer of 2005, to enjoy the sun after our lovely, but rainy and dark, Irish experience.
