I think spirituality and consciousness of what’s going on around you are really, really important. I am really negative about any sort of organized religion. I really don’t care if it’s Hinduism, Buddhism, or how spiritual it is, but it seems that more people have died or been vanquished or been told they are wrong based on organized religion.
I entirely and totally believe in God. I just don’t believe that anybody needs to listen to God except themselves. So, I really have a problem with organized religion.
My hope is that there is a life hereafter or on some other sort of plane. I really feel strongly if people would just be conscious about what is going on around them that there really aren’t any mistakes.
I felt that through my experience with Doug I find myself chuckling at what I consider to be misfortunes befallen me whether it be a flat tire or last weekend driving one of my cars that have just been newly detailed – I collect old cars, and it had been detailed and it was beautiful and I thought I would drive it down and put gas in it because I thought the tank was getting a little low and I made it halfway there and the engine just conked out. The distributor conked out and it was just about two blocks where I would have been turning onto one of the busiest pedestrian streets of the city, so, I just chuckled at that. Well, thank God you broke down where you did.
I think often when you are – when there is traffic or something and you take a turn you weren’t going to take it’s quite often for a reason and I think most times for most of us that reason blows right by us because we are not conscious enough to see it.
To give you an example, I was walking back from the post office a couple weeks ago. I was so engrossed about thinking about something else I didn’t turn where I should have turned. I walked home and I thought, that’s stupid, and I turned and walked down the street to get back home and immediately when I turned that block I ran into somebody I hadn’t seen in years. I just think there are no mistakes. If you accept that God or whoever is brining you blessings then you have to also accept those blessings.
