Growing up I was born Roman Catholic and I went to an all-boys Catholic high school. My mom converted to Catholicism after she married my father. I liked it up to a point until I was an adult and realized some of the stuff that went on.
Then I thought ‘I can’t get behind this religion’. I saw the sexual abuse and I saw them moving priests around and I knew it was crap.
I feel like I am very spiritual. I believe in a higher being and I pray but I don’t go to the Catholic Church. I really don’t believe in organized religion as a whole.
Look at the religious right that runs our country. I think being spiritual and a higher being is great, but when you get a lot of people together with the same thought, things go awry. So I am not really religious anymore.
