My First Husband and Married Life

My roommate and I went to a dance at the San Jose Civic Center. There were this group of men who were taking tests to be doctors, dentists, and engineers. They were all at Stanford. That was where I met my first husband, Tony. My roommate and I went to the Harry James dance. We were hoping to be asked to dance when two cadets came up and asked us. That’s how I met my husband!

Tony thought I was pretty terrific because I was such a good dancer. I was trying to work my way through college because the estate didn’t give me enough money.
