I Was the Kid Who Didn’t Fit In

Especially in my school days, the school system didn’t work for everybody. I was the kind of person who didn’t fit in. I’ve just didn’t fit in. I didn’t feel comfortable being in a classroom. I sat in the back of the classroom and they kept passing me on from grade to grade. I wasn’t involved in school. I guess I was daydreaming a lot.

Coming from New York and going to Los Angeles where all the kids were doing sports… I wasn’t into sports!

In some ways I regret that I didn’t learn a lot of the basic things because I had to learn them later. But I think that a lot of being an artist is being able to dream, being able to see fantasy and make it a reality in the practical world. How does a piece of art come together from all of the possibilities that are out there?
