So, I grew up that way and got into – probably was always a tomboy. Then I got into junior high and got into music and I played in the band, played in the dance band, sang in the choir and the chorus and glee, and art. That was my love, art and music, and still is.
Yes, I like to create. Silly things everybody says, but I don’t know.
I always liked to write. When we had to write things about ourselves or our family I always liked that.
I liked to run track and play baseball. I always liked the sports and played basketball on the girl’s basketball team in high school. So, that’s why I was really basically pretty busy, and my parents were very good about – they always came to see what we were doing and when we were doing and how we were doing. When I had my kids I tried to follow through with that, which is kind of hard because Mel was working seven days a week at the Cooper Tire.
So consequently I would be the one attending like three different PTAs in one night. Ten minutes there, and ten minutes there, and ten minutes somewhere else! So I was always busy, always doing something in school (sighs). I guess we had enough things to do but we didn’t think about going out. In the first place we didn’t’ have cars we could run around in. We did not own a car until I was in high school.
My father never drove a car, my mother drove, so that, you know, that curtails you a little bit too. We walked.
