I am grateful for the dharma. Without the dharma I don’t know where I would be. I just can’t imagine where. I’d be so lost. So I have endless gratitude for the dharma.
I have endless gratitude toward my parents. I have a very good relationship and I love them deeply. My father just turned 80 and my mother is 78 or 79. How blessed am I to still have my parents in my life!
I’m grateful for my wife and my two children. I’m grateful for the type of work that I do. I feel incredibly blessed that I get to do what I do. I get to be of service to so many people and light their hearts with love and compassion.
You know I didn’t even go into this story but eleven years ago I nearly died of flesh-eating bacteria. That’s another whole story. So I’m grateful for my own life. I’ve had a full life. Life is so precious and so fragile. Having survived a life-threatening situation is a very powerful experience. I have tremendous gratefulness for my life, my work, and the people in my life, the teachings. I am unbelievably blessed.
It’s not easy making a living doing what I am doing, but I have been able to do it. It’s quite remarkable. So with whatever time I have left I want to continue to serve.
Let there be peace on earth and let it begin with me. May we all each open our hearts to peace.
