I am Grateful for Everything

Number one, that I’ve been very well my whole life long. Not very, very much happened to me in the health life.

In fact, I was so healthy that I had a whole year of sick leave that I never used until the very end and I did have a bad experience then.

In 1979 I was getting things ready for the new school year coming up and I fell down stairs. There was a mistake, a tile out at the top of the stairs and my toe caught in it and I fell down just a week before it was going to start. I was taken to the hospital and I had a fractured skull, a brain hemorrhage and so on. I was in the hospital a month.

So naturally I did not teach that year, but the whole year was paid because I had a year’s sick leave. When that was done it was 1980 and on my birthday in October and I could retire and I retired.

So, that fall was a bad thing, but it turned out okay. It didn’t leave me with very much of anything wrong except my balance was poor and therefore I fell down after that.

One more thing, I like it that my children had been so successful in everything they’ve tried and, I liked that part. I enjoy my children very much.
