Actually, I have to back up a bit. I got married the first time while I was in the service. As soon as I got out of the service she didn’t want anything to do with me. We had two children, a boy and girl. I got custody of the girl later on.
With my present wife we have had three children: a boy and a set of twins. The twins were one boy and one girl. My father had fraternal twins and I had fraternal twins. When my plans for a year old we had a house fire. The twins got burned.
The time I was working at Dow chemical. And the twins got burned we took them to Saint Vincent’s hospital. The doctors there didn’t give us very good odds. They told us that Children of that age with those types of burns 20% would die. Their bodies were between 30 and 40% burned. But the good lord looked after us.
The kids were at Saint Vincent’s hospital for about ten days. Then we took them to the Shrine hospital in Cincinnati. A month and a half later our children were back home. The shrine hospital did wonders. I will stand behind them 100%. They paid for our transportation to Cincinnati and back. They paid for the care of the twins. They said that they had had in the past one burnt win but never both at the same time. Needless to say they were spoiled.
The boy ended up wearing special shoes and everything else. But now, there are 30-something years old. The girl has two kids and the boy has three young boys. My other son has three girls.
Plus I have from my first marriage. I adopted a boy and we had two girls and a boy. But I don’t see them very much because I don’t get together with my daughter from that marriage to often.
But I’m with the other three a lot. Every Tuesday and Friday we all get together.
From the two twins who got burnt, the girl will bring her two kids and the boys will bring his three boys. That makes five grand kids.
My oldest son and his oldest daughter, who is eighteen, will graduate this year.
