Work Hard and Pay Your Bills

I don’t know, I can’t think of any words of wisdom. (Laughs.) We just worked hard and paid our bills. Something that I’ve been going to tell my granddaughter, because all of them seem like they’ve had a hard time and things have happened to them, and she’s trying to plan for her kids in college. But I feel that they should get their own selves on heel, you know? And worry about their retirement because they’re middle-aged, and worry about their retirement instead of… let the kids take care of themselves until they get there. Or if they can’t, then later on or whatever. But I don’t think they should take away from their lives now for them.

Well, we all had to work if we wanted to go to school. We always worked. I mean, my boys worked when the ranch, they worked in town. Yard work for people, and they were always working. I feel that young people, the ones growing up, they all should learn to work. Make their own money as much as they possibly can.
