“If you set a good example, they will be fine.” Don’t live by those words.

To be a good parent, you have to do what you think is best for you. You can’t say: “those Thompson’s, there all the same.”

Every one of the Thompsons is different. You can’t presume anything.

One year, Sally took me up to NASA where they made the spacesuits.  She tried one on, and I got to hold the moon rocks.  Sally had to take them on rocks home with her.  It was an aluminum case with a lock on it.  She told me: “you hold this, and I’ll take your picture!”

Sometimes your kids might get you down.  Don’t let them get you down.  I don’t.  I’m a star!

Words of wisdom from Baba

When should come to the fork in the road, life would be easy if you knew which road to take.

Don’t fight girls. Someday you’ll be glad to see one another.

Don’t make fun of anyone; you don’t know what’s waiting for you.

You can’t bake cake for the whole world.

Life is like a wagon wheel; you take your turn in the mud.

After while children are someone you used to know.

When a child wants out of the nest, they misbehave to make it easier to leave.

America is amusing itself to death.

It’s a dysfunctional world.

Good cooking will never go out of style, but it makes a mess in the kitchen.

I gave you roots and wings.

We’ll always have a war.  I hope I’m wrong.

You can get sick of strawberries.

After all is said and done you have to find your own consolation.

Capable people are not the best loved.

It’s never the job. It’s the complications.

I think everyone should keep a journal.

We all live with regrets.
