Winter and Summer, an Outdoor Childhood

My childhood was all about outdoors. We played baseball. We rode down to the creek on horseback to go swimming. In the winter we went ice skating every day and the little pond across the street. Everything seemed to be based on outdoor sport. We were busy all the time and we didn’t have many rules to go by. We didn’t have to be home by any certain time to do this or do that. It just seemed like we didn’t have too many rules.

Further into my life as a teenager, my sister and I were two and half years apart. We had first cousins who were exactly the same age as we were: two and a half years apart.
